Personally, I am against religious states, but if a Jewish state is OK for the world, then Islamic states should be OK too… for me both have similarities -using religion as a rule- call it democratic state, call it kingdom, call it caliphate… they all are similar.”

I found this statement on internet.

A religious state CANNOT be a democracy. The right to vote is not enough. It must be only ONE kind of citizenship. Within the State of Israel, the citizenship is asymmetrical: The State of Israel does not belong the the israeli ‘’Arab’’ citizens. It belongs to the ‘’Jewish People’’. Which means is belongs to the israeli Jews AND potentially to all Jews in the world. Also, within a democracy, there are no DISCRIMINATIONS between citizens. Instead, there are dozens of Israeli Laws which discriminate against ‘’Arabs’’, directly or indirectly : https://www.adalah.org/en/content/view/7771

The Israeli State has been created in 1947 by the UN, subject to compliance with some rules. And full equality (men/women , religion, race, etc etc) for all citizens.

The Declaration of Independance of Israel (1948) include explicitely the same rules and described Israel as democratic. Nowadays, the Israeli government is pushing forward the Nation Bill which contradicts BY LAW the Declaration. Also the draft Bill does not mention any more the Declaration of Independance, and does not mention the word ‘’democracy’’ any more.
