NOVICHOK
All western leaders are using the same wording. No one says ‘’produced by Russia’’ or ‘’used by Russia’’. Why ? Because nobody knows.
Israel is a notable exception: there is the condemnation of the use of such product, but Russia is NOT even mentioned.
UK, followed by all the West also use the same justification : “there is no other plausible explanation” than Russia…
To be honest, many countries are able to produce some kind of NOVICHOK (as it is important to work on antidotes).
Russia asked repeatedly for samples of the product, in order to get a clue on its production origin. The british experts analysed the product, but it seems they could not find any clue on its production origin. After heated discussion, the experts finally agreed to say that it was “of a type developped by Russia”.
Russia certainly is not a virgin when it comes to unlawful executions. But there are several other countries having at least the Russian expertise & long experience.
So, maybe “there is no other plausible explanation” really means that “there is no other plausible explanation which we can afford to face”. Therefore we must stick together, regardeless what we really think.
Anyway, with the likely forthcoming increase of tensions in the Middle East, it will not be ‘’bad’’ to already have Russia (& its allies) pushed to the sideline.
