Life is unfair !

The truth always has several faces, which it shows alternately, according to the message which it wants to pass on.

Being a child, I used to play with the girls. They were often among the best pupils of the class. And we could discuss subjects which did not even touch my friends boys.

In every age bracket, they are more mature, more thoughtful, more hard-working, with better results …. a category above, in some way.

After their teens, they tend “to content themselves” with second-class roles. I remember that time, where I asked myself “why” things have changed.

I spent my youth (and more) in different countries, where women are “traditionally” (= normally) relegated to home work. I clearly made the link between Tradition / Rules / Values / Beliefs.

All religions “of the Book” have a similar link between the Beliefs (which are somehow what the priests says that the book is saying) >> the Values >> the Rules & Traditions which we ALSO find in the non-religious areas. The reason being, I guess, that the religious power has dominated the minds during many & many centuries >>> and translated the beliefs into the way of life.

On the Catholic side, some popes tried to get things moving forward, in different domains. But we need a revolution… The interpretation of what the Books REALLY say is important. We use to read one sentence, and link one meaning to it, which we cast in stone. But the correct way to read such Book is to consider that “everything is linked”, and deduce a specific meaning from a group of sentences taken from different places in the Book. Doing so, we must rank the concepts.

Many years ago, I remember of international meetings of Muslim women, trying to promote a “feminine reading” of the Book. They were ranking the concepts differently from what the traditionally “male dominated” religious hierarchy.

Christians should also do that.
