I guess that the right thing to do is to try to ensure that the descendants of Homo sapiens will still enjoy a livable earth, in order to to the “big job”.

To get there, we will need to help ourselves, the sapiens, to be still alive within the next few milleniums.

We can also accept that life will sooner or later disappear on Earth, as it will for sure exist (and then disappear) in many other places in the Universe.
