Genes may define what we look like, more or less.
But the drivers of who we are are mainly cultural.
The three « Religions of the Book » have been constructed within the Middle East on a mix of « roots » which come from previous traditions, myths and religions, many of which come from Bactria, Iran, Scytia, very old Indo-Iranian legends, influences of the Magi, etc.
The “Big 3” adopted different mixes of these varied “roots” : Ritual sacrifices of animals, polytheist Mazdeism traditions, Zarathoustra’s « invention » of the monotheism, trilogia, strict dualism, moral dualism, angels, Adam/ Manus first man, Paradise, …
Therefore, today, we may have slightly different genes, but we have very similar structures & sources for our different « packages » of beliefs/ traditions.
Also, the “Big 3” generally demonstrate the same « fault » : the religious experts/ scholars start with the written (translated) words of the books in order to get to the ideas & principles. The iranian erudite Amir Mehdî Badi used to say that the writing is in the service of the thoughts, and not the opposite.
